Duplicate Key Controversy Surrounds Jagannath Temple’s ‘Ratnbhandar’

Kandhamal, Odisha – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a public meeting in Kandhamal, Odisha, brought to light a controversy surrounding the ‘Ratnbhandar’ of the revered Jagannath temple. The key to this treasury has reportedly been missing for the past six years, raising concerns about the security of the temple’s invaluable assets.

“The key was lost, who found it? Does he keep opening and closing it?” the Prime Minister questioned, highlighting potential security breaches at the temple.

In a surprising turn of events, the state government announced the discovery of a duplicate key. This revelation, however, has only added fuel to the fire. “Now the question is why this duplicate key was made?” PM Modi asked, hinting at possible mismanagement.

The existence of a duplicate key is a matter of grave concern, even more so than the loss of the original key. It brings into question the integrity of the temple’s management and the safety of the ‘Ratnbhandar’.

The Prime Minister called upon the state government to address these issues promptly and ensure the sanctity and security of the temple’s treasury.

The Jagannath temple, a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus, sees a footfall of millions of devotees each year. The ‘Ratnbhandar’ is believed to house priceless treasures and artifacts, making its protection a priority.

This incident has triggered a nationwide discussion on the governance of religious institutions and the necessity for transparency and accountability in their functioning. As the probe into the matter progresses, the devotees of Lord Jagannath eagerly await clarity.
