Maharashtra Government to Appoint 50,000 Youth for Scheme Awareness and Skill Development

Date:

Mumbai — In a recent statement during a Legislative Council session, BJP Minister Chandrakant Patil announced a significant new initiative aimed at increasing awareness of central and state government schemes. Patil revealed that the Maharashtra government plans to appoint 50,000 young individuals to serve as “Yojana Doots” to promote and disseminate information about various government programs.

Patil’s remarks came in response to a question raised by Leader of Opposition (LoP) Ambadas Danve. According to Patil, the government has allocated Rs 53.66 crore to enhance 10 polytechnics across the state, transforming them into “Centres for Excellence.” This initiative is part of a broader strategy to foster skill development, self-employment, and entrepreneurship among the youth.

Under the new plan, Yojana Doots will be appointed in both rural and urban areas. In rural areas, one Yojana Doot will be designated per gram panchayat, while urban areas will see one Yojana Doot for every 5,000 residents. Each Yojana Doot will be engaged for a period of six months and will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs 10,000.

The Government Resolution (GR) detailing this initiative aims to bridge the gap between government schemes and the community by ensuring that information reaches every corner of the state. By employing 50,000 youths in this capacity, the government seeks to enhance public awareness and facilitate greater participation in various schemes.

This move is expected to not only increase the reach and impact of government programs but also provide valuable employment opportunities to young individuals across Maharashtra.
