Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Launches Swachhata Abhiyan, Emphasizes Cleanliness and Pollution Reduction

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the commencement of the Swachhata Abhiyan today, which will run until October 2nd. Speaking at the launch, Shinde highlighted the deep clean drive initiated by the Mumbai Corporation, aimed at enhancing cleanliness across the city.

“The Swachhata Abhiyan that has been started today is crucial for reducing pollution and increasing overall cleanliness in our surroundings,” Shinde stated. He noted the government’s commitment to identifying “black spots” where garbage is often deposited, pledging to tackle these areas to improve sanitation.

Reflecting on the impact of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by Prime Minister Modi in 2014, Shinde remarked, “We are witnessing the benefits of this initiative. The public has become more aware of cleanliness, and it is our responsibility to ensure that our localities and roads remain clean.”

The CM’s emphasis on community involvement and proactive measures aims to foster a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility among residents. With this initiative, the Maharashtra government seeks to further the goals of the Swachh Bharat movement, encouraging citizens to participate actively in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
