Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Celebrates Inaugural Landing at Navi Mumbai International Airport

At the inaugural landing of the Indian Air Force (IAF) C-295 at Navi Mumbai International Airport, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed confidence in the project’s future and its impact on the region. “We are ready for the flight as well as for the fight. We do what we say; we don’t promise what won’t happen. Let’s see what unfolds in the future. Our work is done quickly,” Shinde stated.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to rapid progress, he mentioned initiatives like the Ladli Behan Yojana, which ensures that financial assistance reaches beneficiaries promptly. “Navi Mumbai Airport will prove to be a boon for the people,” he added, emphasizing the airport’s potential to enhance connectivity and economic opportunities in the area.

In a significant announcement, Shinde confirmed that the airport will be named Loknete DB Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport, honoring the legacy of the late leader. The successful landing of the C-295 aircraft marks a critical milestone in the airport’s development, which is on track to begin commercial operations in early 2025.

The event underscores the government’s dedication to infrastructure development and its commitment to fulfilling promises made to the citizens of Maharashtra, as the new airport is expected to transform the aviation landscape and provide a significant boost to the region’s economy.
