Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane has weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding the death of Disha Salian, the former talent manager, alleging that the case was mishandled and covered up by the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. Rane, while speaking on the issue, highlighted the claims made by Salian’s father and voiced his support for a full judicial inquiry into the matter.
In his statement, Rane referred to allegations made by Disha Salian’s father, who reportedly named prominent figures, including Aditya Thackeray, Sooraj Pancholi, and Dino Morea, in connection with the case. “Disha Salian’s father took the names of Aditya Thackeray, Sooraj Pancholi, and Dino Morea. The court will give directions, and an inquiry will be conducted based on that,” Rane said, indicating that the legal process would soon proceed with a thorough investigation.
The case has remained controversial, with various speculations and accusations surrounding the circumstances of Disha Salian’s death in 2020. Rane also pointed to the actions of the previous government, stating that the investigation had been covered up during the tenure of the MVA, which was led by Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress.
“Our MLA, Ameet Satam, raised this issue in the House today. The entire history was told of how everything happened. This case happened during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, how it was covered up, how CCTV footage was made to disappear, how pressure was put on doctors…” Rane claimed, adding further weight to his allegations of political interference in the case.
A key point of contention has been the postmortem report, which Disha Salian’s father alleges was tampered with. “Her father has accused that the postmortem report was changed,” Rane said. “The truth will come out in the court, and whoever is guilty of this will definitely be punished.”
