Piyush Goyal Highlights Arya Samaj’s Contribution to India’s Development at 150th Anniversary Celebration

Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra – Union Minister Piyush Goyal attended the 150th anniversary celebrations of the Arya Samaj in Navi Mumbai, where he praised the organization’s significant role in India’s social and cultural development. In his address, Goyal acknowledged the Arya Samaj’s contributions to several key social reforms, including women’s empowerment, the abolition of Sati Pratha, the fight against untouchability, and the promotion of equality in education.

“The Arya Samaj has contributed greatly to India’s development through women empowerment, the struggle to end Sati Pratha and untouchability, equality in education,” Goyal said, emphasizing the enduring impact of the Samaj’s reformative ideals. He also expressed a personal connection to the Arya Samaj, noting that he and his family have been associated with the organization for many years.

In addition to celebrating the Arya Samaj’s achievements, Goyal extended his congratulations to everyone on the occasion of Gudi Padwa, the Marathi New Year festival. “I also congratulate everyone on the occasion of Gudi Padwa,” he added, marking the cultural significance of the day.

The Arya Samaj, founded by Swami Dayananda Saraswati in 1875, has been at the forefront of social reforms, advocating for education, social justice, and the upliftment of marginalized communities. Goyal’s remarks highlight the continued relevance of the Arya Samaj’s values in today’s society, particularly in promoting equality and social harmony.

As the organization celebrated its 150th anniversary, the event not only reflected on the past but also looked forward to continuing its mission of social reform and nation-building.
