In a sharp exchange of words over the state of infrastructure projects in Maharashtra, BJP leader Shaina NC has responded to criticisms leveled by Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole regarding the Atal Setu bridge in Mumbai.
Speaking to the media, Shaina NC defended the progress and impact of various infrastructure initiatives undertaken by the Mahayuti government, including the Atal Setu bridge. “The speed at which the Mahayuti government is working, be it the trans harbour link, metro, coastal road, or Atal Setu, is seen by everyone,” she stated. “The relief it gives to Mumbaikers, suburban Mumbaikers, and the people living around is known to one and all.”
Shaina NC’s remarks come in response to Nana Patole’s recent comments highlighting concerns over minor cracks in the Atal Setu bridge and questioning the quality of construction. Patole had suggested that the state government should focus on addressing these issues promptly.
“If he (Nana Patole) finds faults with small cracks which the engineers are looking at and working towards tirelessly, maybe he should abstain from using these new connectivities, which have eased the lives of crores of people in Maharashtra,” Shaina NC asserted, emphasizing the broader positive impact of these infrastructure projects on the state’s populace.
The exchange underscores the political tug-of-war over developmental achievements and concerns in Maharashtra, with infrastructure projects becoming focal points of contention between the ruling alliance and the opposition. As criticism and defense continue to reverberate, the scrutiny on infrastructure quality and public service delivery remains pivotal in shaping public opinion and future policy directions in the state.
