Mumbai: The political landscape in Maharashtra is heating up as Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule vehemently countered claims made by NCP-SCP leader Anil Deshmukh regarding alleged pressures from former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Bawankule stated that Deshmukh’s assertions were baseless and part of a larger narrative aimed at confusing the public.
In response to Deshmukh’s allegations that he was pressurized by Devendra Fadnavis, Bawankule questioned why Deshmukh did not take immediate action if such pressure was indeed exerted. “He was the Home Minister at that time. Can someone easily pressurize the Home Minister?” Bawankule asserted, implying skepticism over the credibility of Deshmukh’s claims.
Furthermore, Bawankule accused Deshmukh of orchestrating conspiracies to ensnare BJP leaders, including Girish Mahajan. He claimed that these allegations were part of a strategy to create confusion and tarnish the image of BJP leaders. Bawankule painted a picture of the MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi) government, describing it as a coalition of individuals with divergent agendas united solely to win elections. He criticized their governance, alleging that they were creating schemes to mislead and harm the social fabric of Maharashtra.
“This is a conspiracy to take Maharashtra back in time,” Bawankule declared, emphasizing the seriousness with which the BJP views the unfolding political maneuvers in the state. His remarks underscored the ongoing political tensions between the BJP and the MVA coalition, highlighting the contentious nature of Maharashtra’s political landscape as the state approaches crucial electoral milestones.
Bawankule’s strong rebuttal comes amidst a flurry of accusations and counter-accusations between political parties in Maharashtra, setting the stage for intensified political maneuvering and public discourse in the days ahead.
