Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Pays Tribute to Veteran Actor Manoj Kumar

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed his condolences following the demise of veteran actor Manoj Kumar, fondly known as “Bharat Kumar” for his iconic roles in patriotic films. Paying tribute to the legendary actor, Fadnavis highlighted Kumar’s enduring impact on Indian cinema and his popularity among audiences for decades.

“Manoj Kumar was a very senior artist. He mesmerised his fans with his magic for decades. He was also known as Bharat Kumar. He made patriotic and cultural movies that inspired generations of Indians,” Fadnavis said in his statement.

The Chief Minister further praised Manoj Kumar for his dedication to his craft and his strong sense of beliefs, which he carried into his work. “He was very popular among his fans and was very particular about his beliefs,” Fadnavis added, reflecting on the actor’s personal and professional integrity.

Manoj Kumar, who became a household name in the 1960s and 1970s with films like Upkar, Shaheed, and Purab Aur Paschim, was renowned for his portrayal of characters that embodied nationalistic pride and cultural values. His legacy in Indian cinema, particularly for his portrayal of patriotism and the spirit of India, continues to resonate with audiences.
