Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, took to the stage today to affirm the state’s dominant position in India’s economic landscape, citing a series of developments aimed at further strengthening its infrastructure and economy. In a statement made during the inauguration of an ambitious infrastructure project, Shinde declared, “Maharashtra is the number one state of the country and with the blessings of the sisters of the state, we have got a landslide victory.”
The Deputy CM referred to the state’s ongoing and future growth prospects, noting the commencement of a massive Rs 10 lakh crore infrastructure project, aimed at revolutionizing Maharashtra’s development trajectory. He highlighted that the state’s economic leadership is driven by its position at the top in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), start-ups, and Gross Domestic Product (GDP), adding that these sectors have continued to thrive due to ongoing reforms and government initiatives.
“With the works that have begun now, our economy will strengthen further,” Shinde stated, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing Maharashtra’s infrastructure, which is poised to attract more investment and generate thousands of jobs. The state’s infrastructure boom is expected to provide a significant boost to various sectors, including transportation, urban development, and technology.
Maharashtra has long been regarded as a key economic engine of India, contributing heavily to the national GDP. As the country’s financial capital, Mumbai plays a pivotal role in global trade, commerce, and the start-up ecosystem, further solidifying the state’s leadership in economic growth.
The Deputy CM’s remarks come at a time when the state is embarking on transformative projects designed to strengthen its economic infrastructure, foster innovation, and attract international business. With such large-scale projects in the pipeline, Maharashtra’s role in shaping India’s economic future is expected to grow even more prominent in the years ahead.
