Metro 9 Trial Phase Completed: Fadnavis Promises Seamless Connectivity by 2027

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday announced the completion of the trial phase of Mahamumbai Metro Line 9, marking a major milestone in Mumbai Metropolitan Region’s (MMR) transit infrastructure.

Speaking at the event, Fadnavis said, “The trial phase from Kashigaon to Dahisar is complete. Metro 9 will significantly benefit commuters from Mira Bhayandar and Mumbai.” He emphasized that the government’s goal is to achieve seamless connectivity across all metro corridors, reducing travel time and easing traffic congestion.

A key highlight of the project is the first-of-its-kind double-chamber bridge in the MMR region, integrating metro and suburban train traffic in a single structure. “This innovation will help resolve major congestion issues,” Fadnavis added.

The project is set to extend up to Virar, improving access across suburban Mumbai. He further assured that all metro lines will be interconnected and the government is committed to completing all pending works by the end of 2027.

With this announcement, the state reinforced its commitment to upgrading urban mobility and modernizing the city’s transport infrastructure.
