Maharashtra Minister Deepak Kesarkar responded critically to statements made by Aaditya Thackeray, while also affirming unwavering support within the NCP for Ajit Pawar, in a series of remarks that underscored the ongoing political tensions in the state.
In his comments regarding Aaditya Thackeray’s recent statements on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Minister Kesarkar dismissed Thackeray’s concerns, describing him as inexperienced and prone to creating confusion. “Aaditya Thackeray is still very young. He always tries to create confusion,” Kesarkar remarked, addressing the media in Mumbai. He defended the integrity of the electoral process, highlighting the meticulous procedures followed during the counting of votes. “Whenever EVMs arrive at the counting booth, signatures are taken by all counting agents after ensuring that the seal is perfect. After votes are counted, again signatures are taken. It is a very transparent process,” Kesarkar asserted, aiming to dispel doubts about the electoral process.
Furthermore, Minister Kesarkar criticized the Shiv Sena scion’s readiness to contest in Vidhan Sabha elections, implying Thackeray and his party were unprepared to face the electorate confidently.
Turning to another aspect of Maharashtra’s political landscape, Kesarkar addressed statements made by Rohit Pawar, emphasizing the unified support of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) for Ajit Pawar. “All members of NCP have given wholehearted support to Ajit Pawar,” Kesarkar affirmed, signaling cohesion within the party amidst political maneuvers and uncertainties.
The statements from Minister Kesarkar come at a time of heightened political activity in Maharashtra, with various parties and leaders positioning themselves strategically ahead of upcoming electoral challenges and potential coalition negotiations. The NCP’s unified stance behind Ajit Pawar reflects efforts within the party to consolidate support and present a united front in the state’s political landscape.
As Maharashtra continues to navigate its complex political terrain, statements and responses from key figures such as Minister Deepak Kesarkar serve to shape public discourse and influence perceptions of leadership and governance in the state.
