Mumbai – Members of the Mumbai BJP Minority Morcha gathered in Borivali to celebrate ahead of the introduction of the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 in the Lok Sabha today. The event was marked by expressions of support for the bill, with leaders and supporters praising its potential to benefit the Muslim community, particularly the poor.
Wasim R Khan, President of the Mumbai BJP Minority Morcha, expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing the bill forward. “I thank PM Modi for bringing this bill as it will help poor Muslims. This bill should have been brought much before,” Khan said, underlining the importance of the legislation in addressing the long-standing issues faced by marginalized sections of the Muslim community.
The bill, which aims to reform the management of Waqf properties and ensure their proper utilization for the welfare of the community, has garnered support from various quarters, including members of the BJP Minority Morcha. The proposed reforms are expected to address concerns of mismanagement, encroachment, and inefficiency in the administration of Waqf assets.
Khan’s comments reflect the sentiment among the party’s minority wing, which sees the Waqf Amendment Bill as a step toward social justice, transparency, and empowerment for the Muslim community. The celebrations in Borivali are a show of solidarity with the government’s efforts to enact the bill and improve the lives of those it aims to support.
