Nitin Gadkari Highlights Massive Investment, Infrastructure Push & Naxal Rehabilitation at ‘Karmayogi’ Event

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, speaking at the ‘Karmayogi’ programme organized by the Kai. Laxmanrao Mankar Smruti Sanstha in Mumbai, highlighted a transformative vision for Maharashtra’s development, driven by large-scale investments, major infrastructure projects, and social rehabilitation initiatives.

Gadkari revealed that an investment worth ₹6.5 lakh crore is expected to come into the region from Davos, attributing the achievement to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. “Investment worth Rs 6.5 lakh crores is coming here from Davos due to CM Devendra Fadnavis. The best iron in the world will be produced in this area,” he stated.

He also announced significant progress on infrastructure, including a major expressway. “We are building an express from Raipur to Visakhapatnam. I have in mind to build a road from Gadchiroli which will be connected to Visakhapatnam port. Once the road is built, the area develops and the picture changes,” Gadkari added.

In a notable revelation, Gadkari discussed efforts to engage with former Naxalites in the region. “We also met Naxalites and spoke to them… After getting work, 3000 Naxalites started working. They gave up Naxal activities,” he said, underlining the power of employment and development in curbing extremism.

Gadkari’s remarks come as the government pushes for inclusive growth in remote and conflict-prone regions of the country, combining infrastructure, investment, and peace-building as pillars of progress.
