NEW DELHI – The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PM-Awas), a flagship initiative of the central government, has reached a significant milestone. As per the latest official data, the scheme has successfully constructed and delivered about 3.36 crore houses to beneficiaries, both in rural and urban areas.
The PM-Awas scheme, launched with the objective of “Housing for All”, has seen a remarkable number of homes being built across the country. The data reveals that out of the total houses, 2.55 crore units have been constructed in rural regions, while urban areas have seen the rise of 81.55 lakh units.

The houses, built with a focus on sustainability and affordability, have been handed over to the beneficiaries, marking a significant achievement in the government’s efforts to improve living standards and promote inclusive growth.
The success of the PM-Awas scheme is a reflection of the government’s dedication to social welfare and its efforts to ensure that every citizen has a home. As the scheme continues to evolve, it is expected to bring about a substantial transformation in the housing sector and contribute to the nation’s socio-economic development.
The government remains committed to the PM-Awas scheme and aims to continue its efforts to provide affordable housing to all, thereby changing the country’s landscape and empowering its citizens.
