Mumbai — Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, attended the third edition of Maharashtra’s mega job fair, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Rojgar Mela, held in Charkop, where he highlighted the significant strides being made to create employment opportunities for the youth.

Speaking at the event, Goyal expressed his pleasure in seeing the participation of 3,400 candidates who had registered online for the job fair. “It is a great pleasure to see that about 3,400 children have registered online. More than 50 companies have come here, offering a wide range of job opportunities,” he said.

The job fair also saw the introduction of internships under the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme, with a focus on giving young people hands-on experience. Goyal emphasized the efforts made to ensure that Divyang (differently-abled) children also had access to good employment opportunities, helping them stand on their own feet and become self-reliant.

In his address, Goyal further assured the attendees that the government was committed to creating significant employment opportunities, adding, “In this series, we will work to provide employment to 1 lakh unemployed people within a year.”

The event, aimed at addressing unemployment issues in the state, is part of the broader initiative to promote job creation and skill development, benefiting thousands of youth across Maharashtra.
