Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that his widely-followed monthly radio programme, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, will resume on June 30. The programme was paused due to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with its last broadcast aired on February 25.
In a social media update, PM Modi expressed his excitement about the return of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and invited citizens to contribute their ideas and suggestions. “Delighted to share that after a gap of some months due to the elections, #MannKiBaat is back! This month’s programme will take place on Sunday, 30th June. I call upon all of you to share your ideas and inputs for the same. Write on the MyGov Open Forum, NaMo App, or record your message on 1800 11 7800,” he posted.
The suspension of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ was in adherence to the Election Commission’s guidelines to ensure fair electoral practices. In his 110th edition of the broadcast, PM Modi had stated, “Mann Ki Baat will not be broadcast for the next three months in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.”
The 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which were conducted in seven phases from April 19 to June 1, concluded with the counting of votes and the announcement of results on June 4, leading to the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha.
Since its inception on October 3, 2014, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has been a crucial platform for Prime Minister Modi to engage directly with the citizens of India. Through this programme, PM Modi addresses a broad spectrum of national issues and themes, aiming to connect with various segments of Indian society, including women, the elderly, and the youth.
The return of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ symbolizes a renewed opportunity for the public to participate in national discourse and share their perspectives with the Prime Minister. By inviting public input through the MyGov Open Forum, NaMo App, and a toll-free number, PM Modi continues to emphasize the importance of citizen involvement in governance and policymaking.
The announcement has generated significant anticipation, as ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has been an influential medium for PM Modi to discuss policy matters, celebrate the achievements of ordinary citizens, and address pressing issues facing the nation.
As the June 30 broadcast date approaches, citizens are encouraged to actively contribute their ideas and suggestions, ensuring that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ remains a true reflection of the voices and aspirations of the Indian populace. This initiative highlights PM Modi’s commitment to maintaining an open dialogue with the people and fostering a participatory approach to governance, reinforcing the democratic values that form the foundation of the nation.
