Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a public rally here, launched a scathing critique against the Congress party for its proposal to introduce an Inheritance Tax, labeling it as a revelation of their “hidden agenda.”
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister stated, “Congress has now unveiled another aspect of their agenda. Their hidden motives have come to light. Congress intends to impose an Inheritance Tax… They plan to levy taxes on inheritance received from parents.”
Modi went on to express concern that such a tax would strip away nearly half of the property accumulated through individuals’ hard work, intended to be passed on to their children. He accused the Congress of being oblivious to India’s cherished family values and alleged their intention to plunder individuals’ wealth both during their lifetime and beyond.
“The Congress mantra is ‘Congress ki loot, zindage ke sath bhi loot aur zindagi ke baad bhi loot…'” the Prime Minister declared, conveying his disapproval of the proposed tax.
The proposed Inheritance Tax has ignited fervent debate, with critics contending that it contradicts the traditional Indian practice of wealth transmission to future generations. Meanwhile, proponents argue that it could aid in curbing wealth inequality in the country.
PM Modi’s remarks come amidst the nation gearing up for forthcoming elections, with economic policies emerging as a key point of contention between the ruling party and the opposition.
As political tensions escalate, the proposed Inheritance Tax is poised to become a prominent topic of discussion in the days ahead, shaping the discourse on economic policies and their implications for the populace.
