Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a public meeting in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, highlighted the benefits of the state’s ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) scheme. The scheme, a brainchild of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has made the task of selecting gifts for international visits considerably easier, the Prime Minister noted.
“Thanks to Yogi Ji’s One District One Product scheme, I no longer have to ponder much over choosing gifts when I travel abroad,” PM Modi stated. “I simply visit the state website and pick 5-6 items as gifts.”
The ODOP scheme is a distinctive initiative that seeks to promote traditional industries that are unique to their respective districts. This not only boosts the local economy but also creates job opportunities. Each district in Uttar Pradesh is renowned for a specific product that is produced in large quantities and has the potential for further expansion.
PM Modi’s comments underscore the effectiveness of the ODOP scheme in promoting Uttar Pradesh’s rich and diverse cultural heritage on an international stage. His selection of gifts from these local industries for international dignitaries is a testament to his support for the scheme and its impact.
The Prime Minister’s endorsement of the ODOP scheme is likely to further motivate the artisans and small industries in Uttar Pradesh, contributing to the state’s economic prosperity and development.
