Mumbai – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the 6th Vande Bharat Express of the Western Railway tomorrow. The inauguration ceremony of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Superfast Express, along with its extension from Ahmedabad-Jamnagar to Okha, will be flagged off by the Prime Minister at 9 am via video conference.
The announcement was made by Sumit Thakur, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway. He stated that the Prime Minister will be inaugurating the new service remotely, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of the railway network in the region.
The Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18, is a semi-high speed intercity electric multiple unit. It is considered a significant technological leap for the Indian Railways, with its state-of-the-art amenities and high speed capabilities.
The newly inaugurated trains will commence regular services on March 13, providing a faster and more comfortable travel option for passengers travelling between Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central, and from Ahmedabad-Jamnagar to Okha.
