In response to the recent murder of prominent figure Baba Siddique, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam expressed both concern and a call for measured reactions from political opponents. During a press briefing, Nirupam stated, “The way Baba Siddique was murdered is a matter of concern. The government has taken it as a challenge. It is a challenge for the government.”
He acknowledged the seriousness of the incident but cautioned against drawing sweeping conclusions about the state of law and order in Maharashtra. “To conclude on the basis of one incident that the entire law and order has collapsed, I think this is an exaggeration,” Nirupam remarked.
Nirupam criticized the opposition for using the incident for political gain, asserting that during such critical times, it is essential to support the government rather than politicize the issue. “At the time of such incidents, one should not do politics but should work and support the government,” he emphasized.
The Shiv Sena leader also affirmed that the Mumbai Police and the Crime Branch are conducting a thorough investigation into the case, expressing confidence in their ability to address the situation effectively.
As the investigation unfolds, the incident has sparked discussions about safety and governance in the state, highlighting the need for collaborative efforts to ensure public security.
