Tragic Dombivali Boiler Blast Prompts Maharashtra CM’s Urgent Response

The aftermath of a devastating boiler explosion in Dombivali, Thane, has triggered swift action from Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who addressed the press regarding the catastrophic incident. The explosion, which claimed multiple lives and caused extensive damage to nearby factories and residential properties, has prompted calls for immediate measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

CM Shinde described the intensity of the blast as “very high,” highlighting its far-reaching impact on neighboring factories and residential areas. He expressed deep concern over the hazardous nature of such industrial operations, particularly those falling under the “Red category,” indicating high-risk activities.

In response to the incident, CM Shinde announced plans to relocate highly hazardous factories to non-residential areas to mitigate risks to surrounding communities. He assured that a high-level inquiry would be conducted to determine the cause of the explosion and hold accountable those responsible. Emphasizing a commitment to justice, Shinde pledged that no one would be spared in the investigation.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister announced immediate relief measures for the affected families, stating that the state government would provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of each deceased victim. Additionally, the administration would cover the medical expenses of the injured victims.

Acknowledging the responsibility of the company where the explosion occurred, CM Shinde stated that the company would also provide compensation to its employees affected by the blast.

The tragic incident has prompted widespread calls for enhanced safety protocols and stricter regulations in industrial sectors to prevent similar disasters in the future.
