Prime Minister Modi’s Call for National Dedication Following Meditation Retreat

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, fresh from a 45-hour meditation retreat in Kanniyakumari, shared profound reflections during his flight back to Delhi, advocating for a 25-year period of dedicated nation-building.

At the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Modi immersed himself in meditation, drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s vision of “Bharat Mata” and his call in 1897 to devote 50 years to the nation, leading to India’s independence in 1947. Modi now proposes dedicating the next quarter-century to propel India’s development.

In his note titled “New Sankalp from Sadhana” (new resolutions from reflections), Modi described the sense of detachment he experienced during meditation, prompting introspection on the nation’s trajectory.

Reflecting on Kanniyakumari’s symbolism of unity, where rivers merge with the sea, Modi underscored the significance of Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar’s towering statue, hailing his Thirukkural as a timeless treasure of the Tamil language.

Delving into India’s historical legacy as a cradle of ideas, Modi emphasized the principle of “Idam-na-mama” or “this is not mine,” highlighting India’s tradition of global knowledge sharing. He cited India’s assistance to developed countries during the COVID-19 pandemic as a testament to this ethos.

Modi’s call for a 25-year national commitment marks a pivotal moment in India’s journey towards progress and prosperity. As the nation grapples with contemporary challenges, Modi’s vision underscores the importance of unity, spirituality, and forward-thinking initiatives to shape a brighter future for generations to come.
