Eknath Shinde Highlights Ongoing Efforts to Strengthen Swachh Bharat Mission in Maharashtra

Date:

Mumbai – Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the Swachh Bharat Mission, emphasizing that cleanliness is not a one-day effort but a continuous process. Speaking at an event in Mumbai, Shinde said, “The Swachh Bharat Campaign is not a one-day process, it is a continuous process. Prime Minister Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Campaign from the Red Fort. We are taking it forward in the country. Our sanitation workers are our heroes. We are also running the Swachh Maharashtra Campaign. Maharashtra will make a significant contribution to the Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Mission.”

Shinde praised the relentless efforts of sanitation workers, calling them the backbone of the campaign, and urged citizens to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings. He noted that the state’s Swachh Maharashtra Campaign complements the central government’s initiative, focusing on sustainable waste management, improved sanitation facilities, and public awareness drives.

The Deputy Chief Minister also highlighted the need for collective responsibility, stressing that government efforts alone cannot achieve long-term success without public cooperation. With Maharashtra playing a key role in India’s economic and cultural landscape, the state aims to set an example by making significant strides in hygiene, sanitation, and environmental conservation under the nationwide mission.
