India Strengthens Energy Collaboration as ONGC–BP Sign Contract in Presence of Minister Hardeep Singh Puri

Date:

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri was present yesterday at the signing ceremony of a Technical Services Contract between ONGC and BP India, a global energy major. In a social media post, the Minister said that the agreement marks a significant expansion of the partnership between ONGC and bp, spanning fields from Mumbai High to the Western Offshore Basin. It will enable the large-scale application of advanced technology, global technical expertise, and industry-leading operational practices across some of India’s key legacy hydrocarbon assets.

He further stated that this would enable the large-scale deployment of advanced technology, global technical expertise, and best operational practices across some of India’s key and established hydrocarbon assets. The Minister also noted that such collaboration would strengthen India’s efforts to boost domestic hydrocarbon production, thereby helping the country reduce its dependence on imports and move towards greater energy self-reliance.
