Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal: “India’s Maritime Industry Set to Lead the World Under PM Modi”

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has expressed confidence that India’s maritime industry will become one of the most prominent industries in the world under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking in Mumbai, Sonowal highlighted the massive transformation in the sector over the past decade, attributing the progress to PM Modi’s vision and commitment. “In the last 10 years, you have seen the transformation. Our ports, shipping infrastructure, and logistics have improved significantly. All this has been possible only because of the commitment of PM Modi,” he stated.

The minister emphasized that the government’s focus on modernizing ports, increasing trade efficiency, and strengthening coastal connectivity has positioned India as a key player in the global maritime industry. With initiatives like Sagarmala and Maritime India Vision 2030, India is set to boost exports, attract investment, and create employment opportunities in the sector.

Sonowal’s remarks reaffirm the government’s long-term strategy to make India a global maritime hub, ensuring sustainable and rapid growth in the industry.
