Eknath Shinde Slams Rahul Gandhi Over Anti-Terror Stance, Asserts Global Backing for India

Mumbai — Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has lashed out at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of politicizing national security at a time when India’s fight against terrorism enjoys robust international support.

Speaking during a press briefing in Mumbai, Shinde highlighted that Indian delegations have been visiting key countries to propagate the nation’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism. “Our delegation has gone to different countries. We spoke to Shrikant Shinde, whose delegation has gone to the UAE. UAE said that we are with India in the fight against terrorism,” he said. Shinde added, “The whole world is speaking, but they are doing politics here. Don’t they have patriotism in their blood?”

He further criticized Rahul Gandhi, claiming that the Congress MP harbors doubts over the government’s steadfast approach. “The Prime Minister has openly said that India will not tolerate this anymore and he (Rahul Gandhi) has doubts. At such a time, if he says such things, then the countrymen will teach him a lesson,” Shinde remarked. He stressed that the entire nation stands behind Prime Minister Modi, suggesting that such dissent only stems from jealousy. “The whole country is with Prime Minister Modi; they are not able to digest this, they are jealous,” Shinde concluded.

The comments come amid ongoing efforts by India to consolidate its stance against terrorism on the international stage. Shinde’s remarks reflect broader frustrations within opposition circles and underscore the political polarization over national security issues.
