Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reaffirmed the importance of the Marathi language in the state’s identity while speaking in the Assembly on RSS leader Bhaiyyaji Joshi’s statement.
“Marathi is the language of Mumbai, Maharashtra, and the state government, and the people living here should adopt it. The Marathi language is a part of the culture and identity of the state, and it should be the duty of every citizen to learn it,” Fadnavis said.
He further emphasized that the state government is committed to preserving and promoting Marathi. “The Marathi language will be respected and preserved in Maharashtra, and it is an integral part of our cultural heritage,” he asserted.
His remarks come amid ongoing discussions about language policies and cultural preservation in Maharashtra, with growing calls to ensure Marathi remains widely spoken and respected in the state’s administrative and public life.
